Bloodhound Gang - Hefty Fine

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being cliched as long as you have spirit and a thumping jungle beat to follow it up, as this Jimmy Pop Ali fronted band proffers in second track; ‘Stricyly For The Tardcore’, with the intro snippet being a take on the Eminen swipe at Will Smith.  The provocative and Benny Hill in a bold mood themed; ‘Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo’ sees Jimmy’s vocals return to the pop/rap category to give us this album’s answer to ‘Bad Touch’ (remember that?).

Traces of emo come off in ‘Farting With A Walkman On’ and ‘Ralph Wiggum’, whereas toilet humour is taken to a whole new level and given a good beat in ’Diarrhea Runs In The Family’. Dark hip hop gives us a serious feel and wipes the smirk off your face in ‘Something Diabolical’ that adds soulful variety to third offering and will make it impossible for people to cast aside the band as perverted faux rockers. A neat feature on this album is Evil Jared Hasselhoff’s thrusting bass lines that are the runway for many of the numbers to take off from. There are also a number of High School rock anthems like Overheard In A Wawa Parking Lot’ to keep the kids happy here. There is something for everyone with the Bloodhound Gang, so ignore them at your peril.
