Josh, Stuart and Steve are three very busy lads. They've just completed a tour with Robbie William's and already they're back on the road with their own headlining tour. The young teenage fans only fill up half of the Hop & Grape, but it doesn't matter because the atmosphere is electric with the fans excited by the very prospect of seeing the boys in this intimate venue.
Starting with a couple of rock album tracks, we then hear former single "You Do Something To Me" to deafening screams and a mad pogoing session down the front. New single "Army of Two" brings out the lighters with its feel of vintage U2 with Josh remarking "this will make us bigger than Bon Jovi". Its all a buzz all night from the almost acappella version of "Until My Ship Comes In" to the rocky "Killing Me With Kindness" and not forgetting the well received newie "Burning All The Photographs".
The trio play brilliantly together, harmonizing to perfection and have a friendly rapport with their audience. They even turn their hand to rapping the theme tune to the Fresh Prince Of Belle Air with drummer Stuart a revelation on human beatbox. They encore naturally with one their most recognizable tunes "Everything You Do" which is heavier in its live setting.
Before they leave the stage tonight the Dum Dums arrange, as they always do, to meet and greet the fans at the merchandise stall. Its refreshing to discover a band who really care about their fans and put on a really energetic exciting gigs.
