Eden
Aggressive Punk Rock with undeniable British flare

Introduce yourselves and tell us what you've been up to recently?

We are Eden, we are made up of Harry Corbett - Vocals/rhythm guitar, Karl Such - Lead guitar, Brendon Sutton - Bass, Danny Riddle - Drums, A Manchester based band who have a love for aggressive punk rock with undeniable British flare and an ear for catchy melodies. We are currently preparing to go in to record our second EP of the year at Blueprint Studios in Manchester, we've been working hard on new songs and a quality live performance.

And how did you get together? The name?

Karl Such and Harry Corbett met at college and decided to form a band based on their love of similar bands and influences. The name came from the idea of a "paradise" within a bleak place which resembles our feelings towards the music industry at the moment. Danny Riddle and Brendon Sutton joined at a later date to complete the current and final line up.

Who are your biggest influences?
We are influenced by punk rock, Brit pop and alternative rock, bands such as Nirvana, Oasis, Sex Pistols, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Germs, Foo Fighters, White Stripes, The Kinks, Led Zeppelin, T-Rex, The Clash and The Libertines.

Here at Designer Magazine we're all about supporting the scene.. which are your fave local bands and why should we check them out?
Big False Assembly are a band that we have played with and have been impressed with their live performance, great lads with a interesting sound and a tight three piece band. The High Nines are another band which we appreciate, with an aggressive lead singer and a swagger not seen in many unsigned bands.

What's your biggest promo tips you can give to other local bands? How do you push your band forward?
Don't be afraid to play smaller gigs, constantly push out content to your fans and make sure your fans know they're appreciated, only play music that you can love and believe in.

Where do you go for pre gig food and where do you go post gig clubs in Manchester?
We are normally too pumped up and eager to play a gig that we forget to eat beforehand, Afterwards we make sure to have a drink with the fans that have made the effort to constantly come out to see and support us, then we usually go to a house party.

What do you like most about Manchester?
We love the musical history of Manchester and the great bands that have come from it, the success that's tied with Manchester culture and that the city has remained a British strong point, The night life stands out and the city has great sense of pride linked to anyone who lives there.

Best gig you've been to of all time (and why?)
Harry - "I saw Cage The Elephant at Leeds Festival 2011, It was the most raw energetic performance ive ever seen, Top class."
Karl - "The best gig i've ever been to is Gallows at the Moho in Manchester, The sweat was dripping from the ceiling and the vibe was like being at a punk rock gig in the height of 77'"
Danny - "I love the Foo Fighters, saw them at Milton Keynes in 2011, greatest gig ive ever witnessed"
Brendon - "I saw Frank Turner live, he suprised me having never heard any of his music his lyrics blew me away"

What one book would you say all of your fans should read and why?
Keith Richards autobiography is the rock stars bible and The Alchemist by Paolo Coello, Explaining how if you put your mind to something you can achieve anything, Fight Club by Chuck Palaphunik is a great example of how anarchy and fucking things up is essential in society.

Fave movie or TV show of all time?
Harry Corbett - "Weird Science, A great coming of age film, a cult classic"
Karl Such - "Donnie Darko, A fantastic piece of cinema that surprises you every time you view it"

Which football team do you support?
Harry and Brendon dont support/watch football, Karl is a Manchester United fan and his favourite player is Valencia, Danny is a avid West Ham fan and plays football for a sunday league club.

And finally we're all about the live sweaty gigs - final chance to say why we should check you out live?
We are an agressive, energetic live band that puts its heart into performance and song writing, the band is the most important part of all the members lives and all work together to create a visceral experience for the audience.
