Sick Of The Apathy In Music Nowadays?

If you can answer yes to any of the questions above then you'll understand the motives behind the New Wave Of New Angry Scene.

WHAT IS THE NEW WAVE OF NEW ANGRY?
The New Wave Of New Angry is a socialist art movement which encompasses everything from Performance Poetry to Punk Bands to Political Hip-Hop Artists. Based around a set of ideals rather than a common location it allows the individual to push forward their own identity while still conforming to the socialist ideology.

WHAT ISN'T THE NEW WAVE OF NEW ANGRY?
The N.W.O.N.A is not just a scene dreamed up by a bunch of London centric Journo's and their mates down the pub on a Friday afternoon. The fact that the scene is bigger than any of the artists or media involved ensures that it doesn't become an issue of ego's over ideals. We realize we are just one voice of many, but at least were trying rather than massaging our own ego's and over estimating our own self importance.

WHO IS INVOLVED IN THE NEW WAVE OF NEW ANGRY?
* The (International) Noise Conspiracy
* Miss Black America
* Stephen Nancy
* Chloe Poems
* Holden Caulfield
* Kinesis

NB: But as stated before the scene isn't just what were displaying here in the magazine. It's as much about you, the person on the street, as it is about the artists we've chosen to cover in this issue. The N.W.O.N.A is not defined by race, gender, sexuality or location so a political kid on the streets of Manchester and a political kid in South Africa are as much a part of the scene as any of the artists featured this issue.

WHAT CAN YOU, THE PERSON ON THE STREET, DO?
Realize that whether you like it or not politics isn't something separate from the rest of your life. The biggest danger is ignorance and if we simply sit back, dumb down and bland out they will simply walk over us. The revolution will not be pretty and the only way to bring on that revolution is through education and violence...and through that enlightenment and violence we will find a way of life that brings us true happiness rather than searching for the bigger house with the bigger car.

WHAT CAN YOU, THE MEDIA, DO?
We live in an increasingly tabloid culture and perhaps the only way we can get across the importance of politics is by having a rock & roll band spouting off in an interview, but it's better that than Will Young coming out and saying he's not interested in political activism. And don't even get us started on the Strokes, Nu-Metal or the mainstream British Music Scene.

Come on board and don't be an obstacle to the cause. Were all in the privileged position of having a voice or a pen which people take notice of and it's our duty to portray the truth and honesty of what's going on right now, rather than wasting our time and energy on celebrities / artists with nothing to say. Whether your target market is teenage girls or whether you are writing for the middle aged, the New Wave Of New Angry is universal in it's appeal as long as the reader has a conscience.

So whether you simply link through to the site / this article or want to take it a step further and interview our editor Alex McCann - just come on board and help the cause.
