Introduce yourselves and tell us what you've been up to recently?
We are Arterix, a 4 piece band from the Greater Manchester area, recently we have been writing new music working on a new sound which is ready to be recorded soon. Also we are planning a few music videos to go along with our new stuff.

And how did you get together? (hint: keep it interesting rather than the potted history of 10 previous bassists) The name?
After a couple of us were in previous bands, we met at college with the intention to join a new band to write music and perform music to break into the music industry.

Who are your biggest influences?
Its a hard question to answer this one because we all have really different influences, this really does help with writing though as each one of us can bring a different musical idea into the equation which you will notice in our new stuff, there is a bit of everything in there.

Here at Designer Magazine we're all about supporting the scene.. which are your fave local bands and why should we check them out?
There are many great bands on the scene at the moment but if we had to pick one band in particular it would be Rook and The Ravens

What's your biggest promo tips you can give to other local bands? How do you push your band forward?
The biggest tip we could give to other bands in promoting yourself would be to keep fans interested when you start to get the attention you need keep those fans interested and word will spread. The most important tip though is to actually put the work in and you will see the results nothing happens overnight.

Where do you go for pre gig food and where do you go post gig clubs in Manchester?
Leo's Fish Bar is always good for pre gig food and to finish off you can always find us in Font Bar after a Manchester gig.

What do you like most about Manchester?
This is a tough one but the city's diversity is great, there's so many different kinds of people around. also pretty much everywhere you go there is something going on from Music, Food to just great atmospheres in general. We would definitely recommend Dry Bar or Night & Day as part of a night out always a decent band, artist or even DJ performing.

Best gig you've been to of all time (and why?)
well we all have our personal favourite gigs that may not be what you'd expect:

Lowery: Fall Out Boy at MEN Arena
Niall: The Subways at Manchester Academy
Danny: McFly at MEN Arena

Fave movie or TV show of all time?
There are way too many to list

Which football team do you support?
Well this is an interesting question,

Niall: Liverpool
Danny: Manchester United
Lowery: not a massive football fan
Cam: Manchester City

as you can see when it comes to football teams we have absolutely nothing in common.

And finally we're all about the live sweaty gigs - final chance to say why we should check you out live?
You should come and check us out live because we never like to let you down and put everything into a performance no matter what the size of gig or the crowd, plus the crowd make the gig so without you there the atmosphere and energy in the room would not be the same

And if we want to know more whats your facebook / twitter addresses?
u can find us on facebook at www.facebook.com/arterix.officialpage that is the first place any new music appears.

You can also find us on youtube here www.youtube.com/arterixofficial we haven't really used youtube much but we are going to be using it just as much so you will be able to watch anything from our Music Videos to things we have filmed with the band
